NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION (NEHA)

About NEHA and it's Origin

NEHA serves over a thousand members to advance the environmental health and protection professional in providing a healthful environment for everyone.  The number one Food Safety Training in the ENTIRE United States, none of the others (ServSafe and National Registry) come close to NEHA.  At Rest Ops Solutions, we are the leading Food Safety Training providers in America, providing the three main accredited ANSI/CFP classes.  So, it comes as no surprise that we would know how many food service operators prefer the NEHA over the others, and it is many more!

In addition to maintaining high standards of practice and testing for credintialing programs, NEHA provides training and resources for continuing education through online courses.  The NEHA exams are offered utilizing Prometric.  The original impetus behind the creation of a national professional society for environmental health practitioners was the desire by professionals to establish a standard of excellence for the developing professional.

At Rest Ops Solutions, we are very proud to be a part of the NEHA team of Instructors.  We believe that such a credential is necessary if the environmental health field is to grow and take shape as a legitimate and widely respected profession.

Like NEHA, at Rest Ops Solutions we know that your career is most likely the biggest investment of time and money in your life.  We are here for your training, operational, and environmental needs, and to help you onto the right path - serving safe food.  We will help you with advanced training in food safety, and will help you to expand your responsibilities to better serve your customers.

NEHA defines  environmental health as the science of preventing human injury and/or illness and promoting well-being by: 1). identifying and evaluating environmental sources and hazardous agents; and 2). limiting exposures to hazardous physical, chemical, and biological agents in the air, water, soil, food, and other environmental media or settings that may adversely affect human health.

At Rest Ops Solutions, we will help you to maintain a working knowledge of these types of contamination sources and other important factors so that you can maintain and produce the food you sell to your customers as safe as possible.

The Professional Food Manager

NEHA states that Foodservice Operators must manage risks effectively.  In doing so, management teams must learn basic food handling practices and food safety principles.  They must apply the information on the job, and pass a Conference for Food Protection / American National Standards Institute (CFP/ANSI) approved examination.  NEHA's Professional Food Manager training supplies culinary and hospitality professionals and students with the knowledge to pass the CFP/ANSI-approved exam while helping to ensure the continued successful execution of food safety best practices in the workplace.

The training material prepared by Rest Ops Solutions professionals is written in an easy-to-read style that prepares current, and soon-to-be managers for the many food safety challenges they may encounter while performing their roles.  Updated to the 2017 FDA Model Food Code, Rest Ops Solutions professionals have contributed to the superb training outline utilized in Food Safety Training.

The training material used in all Food Safety Training classes provides vital information on the topics such as key principles of food safety management and how to use the principles to create a safe food culture within their food establishment.  Also covered is the information on how to identify and avoid a variety of contaminants; preventing time-temperature abuse and cross-contamination; the importance of cleaning and sanitizing, including guidelines for each; the latest information on reportable illnesses; guidelines to follow before, during, and after an inspection; and supplements to the FDA Model Food Code.

The Rest Ops Solutions training material includes:

* Streamlined, validated content by subject-matter experts at NEHA, FDA, FSIS, USDA, CDC, and others.

* Aligns with American Culinary Federation Education Foundation (ACFEF) required Knowledge and Skills Competence for Sanitation.
